01 · Why GPS

Why Choose GPS for Anoka County Inmate Search

The Anoka County Sheriff's Office keeps the official Inmate Locator. GPS can help you understand what a record means, which office to call and whether a court-authorized surety bond may be available. We don't operate the locator or decide release.

  • Help Understanding Search Results

Anoka's locator mixes current Jail custody, Workhouse placements and people released in the past 30 days, and it notes transfers. GPS can help you tell which one you're looking at and which government resource to check next.

  • Available 24/7

Arrests in Anoka, Coon Rapids, Blaine and across the county happen at any hour. Our team answers day or night — court offices keep their own business hours.

  • Sheriff, Jail & Court Guidance

We can point you to the right office: the Jail Division for custody, the Workhouse for sentenced placements, and District Court for case records, hearings and bail decisions.

  • Clear Bail Premium Information

If a surety bond is available, we explain the premium Minnesota law allows, any payment arrangement and the paperwork before you sign anything.

  • Eligible Surety Bond Assistance

When the court has set bail and a surety bond is authorized and approved, GPS can help arrange it. An arrest is not a finding of guilt, and eligibility and release are never guaranteed.

  • Minnesota Statewide Coverage

The county says people may be transferred to another jail to relieve crowding, so someone may not stay in Anoka. GPS helps with eligible cases across Minnesota, though we can't post every bond requested.

Good to know

  • The Jail and the Workhouse are separate facilities.
  • A recent-release listing does not mean someone is still held.
  • Transfers can change where a person is held.
  • A booking does not establish guilt.
  • Court and jail records serve different purposes.
  • Other warrants or holds can affect release.
  • GPS Bail Bonds cannot control release processing.
  • Verify any suspicious bail-related payment call directly with the agency.

Anoka County Jail Visitation & Inmate Services

Once you've found someone, you may want to visit, call or send money. The Jail and the Workhouse set different rules, and they can change — always check the official page first.

05 · Bail & release

Bail Options After Locating an Inmate in Anoka County

In Minnesota, the court sets bail and release conditions, and Minnesota Statutes Chapter 60M governs commercial bond premiums. Anoka County doesn't publish a cash-bail payment procedure on these pages, so confirm the details for each case before you travel.

Court-Set Bail & Release Conditions

The court or other appropriate legal authority controls bail and release conditions. Not everyone in custody needs a commercial surety bond — some people are released without financial bail, and other conditions may apply. GPS cannot change judicial decisions.

Cash Bail vs. Surety Bond Premium

These are different things:Cash bail — the court-authorized amount, paid through an accepted government procedure.Surety bond — an authorized bond backed by a licensed surety.Premium — the charge for the surety bond service.Collateral — additional security, when required.Commissary deposits, court fines and phone funds are not bail.

Confirm Anoka County Bail Procedures

Release Processing & Other Holds

Release requires the appropriate authorization and staff must complete processing. Other warrants, court orders or agency holds can delay or prevent release, a Workhouse sentence is different from ordinary pretrial release, and GPS cannot guarantee a release date or processing time.

Minnesota Bond Premium Rules

  • The court sets the bail amount — not the jail and not GPS.
  • The premium follows the rate the surety has filed and had approved in Minnesota.
  • The statutory minimum premium is $100.
  • Bonds of $10,000 or less: at least 50% of the premium is collected before posting; any balance is repaid within four months.
  • Bonds over $10,000: at least 30% of the premium is collected before posting; any balance is repaid within at most 12 months.
  • Any balance needs a signed promissory note. No financing or payment plan is guaranteed.
