  • Tenth Judicial District

02 · Calendars & hearing dates

Isanti County Court Calendars & Hearing Information

How to find a scheduled Isanti County hearing, check a court date and keep track of changes. Your official court notice and Court Administration are always the final word on a case-specific appearance.

  • Find the Official Court Calendar

The official Isanti County court page links the Isanti County Weekly Public Court Calendar and a separate Districtwide Referee Weekly Public Calendar. The court says:

    • Calendars are searchable PDFs.
    • They're posted at 7:00 AM each business day.
    • They're updated hourly through the day.
    • Hearings, judges and courtrooms can change.
    • Confidential matters and some other cases aren't listed.
  • Verify a Scheduled Court Appearance

    Court Administration: 763-290-7020

Your hearing notice, court orders and Court Administration are the authoritative sources for your appearance requirements. Confirm:

    • Hearing date and time
    • Case number
    • In-person or remote format
    • Courtroom or location
    • The judge's or notice's instructions

The online calendar never overrides a court notice or order.

  • Minnesota Court Records Online

MCRO provides access to many public Isanti County case records, documents and hearing details.

Pending criminal cases generally don't appear in a defendant-name search — you'll need the case number, citation number, attorney name or attorney bar number.

  • Remote Court Hearings

Some Minnesota court hearings happen remotely under a statewide hearings policy. Your official hearing notice tells you whether to appear in person at the courthouse or remotely — use only the instructions the court gives you.

    • Not every criminal hearing is remote.
    • Never rely on a meeting link from anyone other than the court.
  • Hearing eReminders

Eligible case participants can sign up for courtesy text or email reminders before eligible hearings from the Minnesota Judicial Branch. GPS doesn't run this system.

    • Reminders are optional.
    • They don't replace your official notice.
    • They aren't available for every case or participant.
    • Not receiving one doesn't excuse missing court.
  • Rescheduling & Calendar Changes

    Court Administration: 763-290-7020

The court controls hearing schedules, and judicial assignments and hearing locations can change. If you can't attend, contact your attorney and the court promptly.

    • Attorneys can help with case-specific requests.
    • Court Administration can explain the right procedure.
    • Asking for a continuance doesn't mean it's approved.

What If Your Isanti County Court Date Does Not Appear?

Not finding a hearing on the Isanti County calendar or in MCRO doesn't mean it was canceled. Common reasons include:

  • The public calendar hasn't been updated yet.
  • The hearing was changed.
  • The matter is confidential or restricted.
  • The search used incomplete details.
  • The case isn't publicly displayed.
  • Only your notice or Court Administration can confirm it.

Do not assume a required court appearance has been canceled simply because it is absent from the public calendar.

03 · Criminal court & bail hearings

Criminal Court Proceedings in Isanti County

How criminal cases move through Isanti County District Court and where bail decisions fit in. For booking and custody at the jail itself, see our Isanti County Jail Guide.

  • Criminal Charges & Case Filing

A criminal case can begin through an arrest, a citation, a complaint or another authorized charging process, and it follows Minnesota statutes and court rules. Not every arrest leads to detention at the Isanti County Jail.

An arrest or charge does not establish guilt.

  • First Court Appearance

    A first appearance may include:

    • Advisement of the charges
    • An explanation of legal rights
    • Review of representation
    • Bail or release decisions, where applicable
    • Scheduling of later proceedings

The process varies by case; bail isn't necessarily set or changed at every first appearance.

  • Bail & Release Conditions

A judge or an applicable court order controls financial bail and release conditions, which can include restrictions or obligations the court imposes. GPS cannot:

    • Determine the bail amount
    • Modify a judicial order
    • Remove warrants or holds
    • Guarantee immediate release
    • Waive required court appearances
  • Hearings & Case Progress

    A criminal case may involve:

    • Initial appearances
    • Pretrial hearings
    • Omnibus proceedings
    • Evidentiary hearings
    • Trial
    • Sentencing or other ordered appearances

The sequence depends on the case; there's no fixed timeline or outcome.

  • Attorneys & Public Defenders

Eligible defendants may apply for a public defender, including through the official online application or authorized forms. The court determines eligibility and appointment.

GPS Bail Bonds is not a law firm and does not provide criminal defense representation.

  • Failure to Appear & Warrants

Missing a required criminal court appearance can lead to:

    • A warrant
    • Changes to release conditions
    • Bond-related consequences
    • Additional proceedings

GPS can't cancel a warrant or a hearing — contact your attorney and the court right away.

05 · Bail, release & court responsibilities

Isanti County Court Bail & Release Information

The court decides bail and release conditions; the jail holds people in custody and processes release. Here's how an Isanti County court's bail decision connects to posting bail or a bond — and why court obligations continue afterward.

Who Determines Bail & Release Conditions?

The court or another authorized legal authority sets bail and release conditions in an Isanti County case. Not every defendant is required or permitted to post a commercial surety bond, and GPS doesn't set the amount or decide release eligibility.

Court-Set Bail vs. Bond Premium

Five different things:Court-set bail — the amount set by the court or authorized release process.Direct cash bail — funds posted under the government's accepted procedures.A commercial surety bond — a licensed, surety-backed bond, where permitted. The bond premium — the charge for surety services at the approved rate.Collateral — separate security, when required. A court fine is none of these.

Where Direct Cash Bail Is Posted

Isanti County hasn't published a complete procedure for where, when and how direct cash bail is accepted in every situation. Release Conditions & Future Court Dates

Posting bail or a permitted surety bond doesn't end court obligations. The defendant must keep attending scheduled hearings and follow court orders, release restrictions and any required reporting or supervision. The custody authority controls release processing — no release time is guaranteed.

After the Court Sets Bail — What Happens Next?

General information only — the court and the custody authority make every bail, custody and release decision.

  1. Confirm the official bail amount and release conditions.
  2. Find out whether cash bail or a surety bond is permitted.
  3. Confirm which facility is holding the person.
  4. Complete the authorized payment or bond procedure.
  5. Wait for release authorization and processing.
  6. Follow every future court obligation.

Minnesota Bond Premium Rules

  • The court sets the bail amount — not the jail and not GPS.
  • The premium follows the rate the surety has filed and had approved in Minnesota.
  • The statutory minimum premium is $100.
  • Bonds of $10,000 or less: at least 50% of the premium is collected before posting; any balance is repaid within four months.
  • Bonds over $10,000: at least 30% of the premium is collected before posting; any balance is repaid within at most 12 months.
  • Any balance needs a signed promissory note. No financing or payment plan is guaranteed.
  • Collateral and cosigner requirements depend on the circumstances.
