Police, Jail & Court Guidance
Fridley's Police Division works from the Civic Campus on University Avenue NE; Anoka County Jail and Anoka County District Court are in the City of Anoka. We explain which agency handles the arrest, the custody and the bail decision.
04
Clear Premium & Paperwork Information
We explain the filed premium, each document you'd sign, what a cosigner takes on and when collateral might be requested — before you commit to anything.
05
Eligible Surety Bond Assistance
When the court's order permits a surety bond and underwriting is met, GPS can discuss Minnesota bond options with you. Nothing is pre-approved, and GPS cannot change a court decision.
06
Minnesota Statewide Coverage
GPS serves eligible cases throughout Minnesota, subject to the agency holding the person and bond availability — useful when a Fridley arrest involves a warrant from another county.
The Fridley Police Division, the Minnesota State Patrol, an Anoka County Sheriff's deputy or another agency with jurisdiction may handle an arrest or citation. Some people are cited or released without being booked.
02
02
Step 2 of 6
Confirm Custody and the Responsible Jurisdiction
Check the Anoka County Inmate Locator or call the Jail Division at 763-324-5100. A Fridley arrest doesn't guarantee a booking at Anoka County Jail — the person may be released, not yet listed, or held on another agency's matter.
03
03
Step 3 of 6
Verify Court-Set Bail and Release Conditions
The court handling the case — usually Anoka County District Court — or another authorized legal authority decides bail and release conditions. Court information is separate from the jail's custody records.
04
04
Step 4 of 6
Contact GPS and Review Eligible Options
Call (763) 288-2581 with whatever you know. GPS explains eligible surety options, the filed premium rate, the paperwork and any other possible requirements. Approval is not guaranteed.
05
05
Step 5 of 6
Complete Premium, Paperwork and Underwriting
Any required premium, signed agreement, cosigner or collateral arrangement is completed as Minnesota law and the surety's underwriting require, with a receipt for every payment.
06
06
Step 6 of 6
Post an Authorized Bond and Follow Court Requirements
The responsible authority processes an accepted bond and the release — GPS doesn't control that timing, and other holds can delay it. The defendant must attend every hearing and follow all court orders.
Not every charge is eligible for bail, and no amounts are guaranteed — the court decides in each case.
05 · Costs
What Bail Bonds Cost in Fridley
Fridley does not have a separate city bail bond premium schedule. Anoka County District Court determines monetary bail and release conditions, while Minnesota's filed-rate and statutory rules govern commercial surety premiums statewide.
Court-Set Bail vs. Bond Premium
The court sets the bail amount. Paying it directly in cash is one option. A surety bond instead costs a premium — a fee paid to the bail bond agency that is not returned at the end of the case. Minnesota Criminal Procedure Rule 6 ↗ (opens an external site)
Filed Surety Rates & Minimum Upfront Payment
Under Minn. Stat. §60M.02, premiums follow rates filed with the Minnesota Department of Commerce. Bonds of $10,000 or less require at least 50% of the premium collected before posting; bonds greater than $10,000 require at least 30% collected before posting. Any unpaid premium balance requires the applicable approved, signed promissory note and the statutory repayment terms. The statutory minimum premium remains $100. Minnesota §60M.02 — Bail Bond Premiums ↗ (opens an external site)
Promissory Note & Repayment
Any unpaid premium balance is put in writing, with a payment schedule and any allowed interest. The signer is responsible for that balance regardless of how the case ends. The same §60M.02 rules above govern premium payment.
Use the court-set bond amount from the jail or court.
Estimates are for informational purposes only and are not a binding quote or financing offer. Actual premiums are based on the applicable approved surety rate. Payment arrangements depend on eligibility, underwriting, and Minnesota law. Call GPS Bail Bonds for a case-specific quote.

Fridley's Police and Fire departments merged into one Public Safety Department in 2018, and the Police Division provides around-the-clock service. The City's resident guide encourages dialing 911 in Anoka County for both emergencies and non-emergency police dispatch; the county's non-emergency line is the number to use from outside Anoka County. The police office is not the county jail, and its administrative number is not a custody hotline.
Anoka County Workhouse (separate facility): 763-324-4860
The county's primary booking facility for Fridley arrests is in the City of Anoka, not in Fridley. Operated by the Anoka County Sheriff's Office as the county's primary booking and intake facility; it mainly houses people who have not been sentenced. The Anoka County Workhouse (Rum River Human Services Center, 3300 4th Avenue N., Anoka) is a separate minimum-security facility mainly for sentenced adults — it is not where an initial booking happens.
Handles criminal and traffic matters filed in Anoka County, including applicable Fridley cases. Judges decide bail and release conditions; GPS does not set bail amounts or hearing schedules. The Court Bail & Bonds line is for court bail questions — it is not an automatic phone-payment service, so confirm the authorized payment location and accepted methods first.
Start with the official Anoka County Inmate Locator. A Fridley Police arrest may end in a citation or release rather than a booking, and a person may already be out, not yet listed, or held on another agency's matter. If they aren't listed, call the Jail Division — the Civic Campus police office and City Hall reception are not booking desks.
02
County Jail Booking
An arrest and a jail booking are different events. Booking at Anoka County Jail involves identification, custody screening and records processing, so a recent arrest may not appear in the official locator right away. Someone cited or released without booking may never be listed, and no booking or first-appearance timeline is guaranteed.
03
Official Inmate Search
Anoka County's official Inmate Locator covers people currently held in the Jail or the Workhouse, plus people released from either facility in the past 30 days; some records note a transfer to another facility. A recent-release record does not mean the person is still in custody. GPS does not operate the locator or control custody data.
Court orders control release terms. Anoka County District Court may release someone without money bail, on conditions, with money bail, or a combination — so a commercial bond is not always needed. Conditions such as no-contact or no-alcohol terms still apply after any bond is posted. Someone serving a sentence at the Workhouse is not in an ordinary pretrial-bail situation.
05
Cash Bail vs. Surety Bond
Cash bail paid directly to the government, as the court authorizes, is different from a surety premium paid to a bail bond agency, which is not returned. GPS has not confirmed Anoka County's complete cash-bail payment procedure, so call the Jail Division (763-324-5100) or Court Bail & Bonds (763-760-6540) to confirm the authorized payment location and accepted methods before traveling. That procedure does not define how GPS accepts payment.
A warrant, another case, a probation-related restriction, a transfer or another agency's hold can keep someone in custody after bail is posted on the Fridley matter. GPS cannot remove those restrictions or promise an immediate release. See our Warrant and Probation Violation guides.
Court dates
Court Appearance Information
Anoka County District Court, at 2100 3rd Avenue in Anoka and part of the Tenth Judicial District, decides bail and release conditions for cases filed in Anoka County. Court records and the county's custody locator are separate systems: Minnesota Court Records Online shows certain case information and hearings, but it is not a jail roster or a complete warrant check, and some pending criminal name searches are restricted. Public calendars can change, so confirm each required appearance from official notices or with Court Administration at 763-760-6700. Missing a required hearing can lead to a warrant and other serious consequences.

Fridley is an incorporated city in southern Anoka County, on the east side of the Mississippi River just north of Minneapolis.
Policing is provided by the Fridley Police Division, part of the city's Public Safety Department — Police and Fire merged into that department in 2018, and the Police Division provides around-the-clock service.
City Hall and Public Safety share the Fridley Civic Campus at 7071 University Avenue NE, but they use different numbers: City Hall 763-571-3450 and police administration 763-572-3629.
University Avenue NE is a major corridor through Fridley and the address of its Civic Campus.
The City of Fridley operates Springbrook Nature Center, a nature center with year-round trails, programs and camps.
The county jail (325 Jackson Street) and Anoka County District Court (2100 3rd Avenue) are in the City of Anoka, not at the Fridley Civic Campus. GPS serves Fridley families by phone and online and has no office in the city.

Fridley Bail Bonds FAQs
Yes. Call (763) 288-2581 or use the form at any hour, including nights, weekends and holidays. GPS helps Fridley families by phone and online from its Big Lake-area business location and has no Fridley office.
Most arrests inside city limits are made by the Fridley Police Division. Depending on the location and the case, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Anoka County Sheriff's Office or another agency with jurisdiction may be involved instead.
Yes. Fridley merged its Police and Fire departments into a single Public Safety Department in 2018, and police services are provided by its Police Division from the Civic Campus at 7071 University Avenue NE. The police administrative line, 763-572-3629, is for business and records — not emergency dispatch.
If someone is booked on an Anoka County matter, it is generally at Anoka County Jail, 325 Jackson Street in the City of Anoka. That isn't guaranteed — some people are cited and released, and another agency's warrant can mean another facility.
No. The Fridley Police Division is a city law-enforcement agency, and its Civic Campus office is not a jail. Anoka County's jail is operated by the Sheriff's Office in the City of Anoka; the separate Anoka County Workhouse mainly holds sentenced adults.
Use the county's official Inmate Locator or call the Jail Division at 763-324-5100. The locator covers the Jail and the Workhouse, plus people released in the past 30 days — so a listing doesn't always mean the person is still held, and a very recent booking may not appear yet.
The Jail Division is 763-324-5100 and the separate Workhouse is 763-324-4860. Neither is a Fridley city number, and the Fridley police administrative line cannot confirm county custody status.
Cases filed in Anoka County, including applicable Fridley cases, are heard at Anoka County District Court, 2100 3rd Avenue in Anoka (Tenth Judicial District, Court Administration 763-760-6700). There is no separate criminal District Court in Fridley.
Ask the Jail Division (763-324-5100) what is on record for someone in custody. For court-case bail questions, call Court Administration (763-760-6700) or Court Bail & Bonds (763-760-6540) — that line is for bail questions, not an automatic phone-payment service.
When the court sets money bail and allows a surety bond, GPS can review whether a Minnesota surety bond is available. Underwriting, identification and signed paperwork apply; approval is never automatic, and the court's conditions still have to be met.
The premium follows the rate the surety has filed with Minnesota regulators under §60M.02, with a $100 minimum. There is no universal percentage and no Fridley price list; the court sets the bail amount itself.
Often, yes. A cosigner (indemnitor) signs an agreement taking on financial responsibility if the defendant misses court, and may be asked for identification, income or collateral details. GPS explains every obligation before anyone signs.
Yes. A warrant from another county, a probation-related restriction or another agency's hold can keep someone in custody even after bail is posted on the Fridley case. GPS cannot remove a hold or promise a release time.
Anything you know: full legal name, date of birth or approximate age, where in Fridley it happened, the arresting agency, and any booking, charge, court or bail details. Gaps are fine — you don't need a booking number to ask for help.
