Spring Hill Bail Bonds Guide

01 · Why GPS

Why Choose GPS in Spring Hill

Clear county resources for one of Stearns County's smallest cities — with no police department, jail or court of its own, every step runs through Stearns County.

  • Spring Hill Bail Assistance

Spring Hill has no police department, jail or court, and its Melrose mailing address doesn't change which county handles a case. GPS helps families connect a Spring Hill arrest with the Sheriff's contact, the county roster and the right District Court information.

  • Available 24/7

Call (763) 288-2581 or send the form any time. GPS answers around the clock; Spring Hill's city government, the county offices and the court keep their own schedules.

  • Sheriff, Jail & Court Guidance

The Sheriff's Office handles law enforcement and dispatch for Spring Hill, the Stearns County Jail handles custody, and Stearns County District Court decides bail. We explain which one answers which question.

  • Clear Premium & Paperwork Guidance

We go through court-set bail, filed surety rates, the minimum collected before posting, receipts and every signed agreement and obligation before you commit.

  • Eligible Surety Bond Assistance

If the court authorizes a bond and underwriting is met, GPS can discuss surety options and qualifying payment terms. A cosigner or collateral may be required; nothing is pre-approved.

  • Minnesota Statewide Coverage

Stearns County or anywhere else in Minnesota — GPS can help with the jail and court involved. GPS has no office in Spring Hill.

02 · Bail process

How Bail Bonds Work in Spring Hill

What usually happens after an arrest in or around Spring Hill. Every case is different; the court makes the decisions and no release time is guaranteed.

  1. 01

    Step 1 of 6

Arrest or Citation in Spring Hill

A Stearns County Sheriff's deputy — or another authorized agency, such as the State Patrol on the Highway 4 corridor — may respond. Spring Hill has no municipal police department, and a citation is not the same as being held in jail.

  2. 02

    Step 2 of 6

    Confirm Custody and Booking

If someone was taken into custody, check the Stearns County current-inmate roster. A recent arrest may not show yet, and some people are cited and released without being detained.

  3. 03

    Step 3 of 6

    Verify Court-Set Bail and Conditions

Stearns County District Court controls release terms. Not every defendant is assigned money bail — a judge may set conditions, bail or both. Confirm the terms through the court or another authorized source.

  4. 04

    Step 4 of 6

    Contact GPS About Bond Options

Call (763) 288-2581. Share whatever identification, custody or case details you have, and GPS can explain whether an authorized surety bond may be possible. Approval is not promised.

  5. 05

    Step 5 of 6

    Complete Premium, Paperwork & Underwriting

Identification, signed agreements, the approved premium with a receipt and, where required, a cosigner, collateral and underwriting review.

  6. 06

    Step 6 of 6

Post the Bond and Follow Court Orders

Bond acceptance and release processing vary, and another warrant or hold can delay release. After release, every court appearance and release condition must be followed.

Not every charge is eligible for bail, and no amounts are guaranteed — the court decides in each case.

05 · Costs

What Bail Bonds Cost in Spring Hill

Spring Hill does not have a separate city bail bond premium schedule. Stearns County District Court determines monetary bail and release conditions, while Minnesota's filed-rate and statutory rules govern commercial surety premiums statewide.

Court-Set Bail vs. Bond Premium

The court sets the bail amount. Paying it directly in cash is one option. A surety bond instead costs a premium — a fee paid to the bail bond agency that is not returned at the end of the case.
Minnesota Criminal Procedure Rule 6 (opens an external site)

Filed Surety Rates & Minimum Upfront Payment

Under Minn. Stat. §60M.02, premiums follow rates filed with the Minnesota Department of Commerce. Bonds of $10,000 or less require at least 50% of the premium collected before posting; bonds greater than $10,000 require at least 30% collected before posting. Any unpaid premium balance requires the applicable approved, signed promissory note and the statutory repayment terms. The statutory minimum premium remains $100.
Minnesota §60M.02 — Bail Bond Premiums (opens an external site)

Promissory Note & Repayment

Any unpaid premium balance is put in writing, with a payment schedule and any allowed interest. The signer is responsible for that balance regardless of how the case ends. The same §60M.02 rules above govern premium payment.

Collateral & Cosigner Responsibilities

Some bonds require collateral or a cosigner. Minn. Stat. §60M.03 governs how collateral is held and returned. A cosigner may owe the full bond if the defendant misses court.

06 · Jails & custody

Spring Hill Jails & Custody Information

Spring Hill has no municipal police department, jail or court. The Stearns County Sheriff's Office is the county law-enforcement contact; people held for court are generally booked into Stearns County Jail in St. Cloud, and cases go to Stearns County District Court there — confirm current custody and release terms through official sources.

Spring Hill has no police department of its own, and there is no Sheriff's substation in the city. For non-emergency law-enforcement matters, use the Stearns County Sheriff's dispatch line at 320‑251‑4240; other authorized agencies can respond depending on the circumstances. The Records Division (320‑259‑3700) is not dispatch, and Sheriff's administration (320‑259‑3702) is not jail central control. City government handles municipal business only.

The two Courthouse Square addresses are service locations of one district court, not two courts — confirm the assigned hearing location with the court. Judges determine bail or release conditions; GPS does not set bail amounts or hearing schedules.

  • Locating a Spring Hill Arrestee

Start with the Stearns County current-inmate roster, searched by name — an arrest does not always mean someone is in jail, and the person may already be released. If they aren't listed, call jail central control. A Melrose mailing address doesn't mean a Melrose case: Spring Hill matters go through Stearns County, and Spring Hill's city government is not a booking desk.

Stearns County Jail central control (24/7): 320-259-3760

  • County Jail Booking

An arrest and a jail booking are different events. Booking at Stearns County Jail involves identification, photographs and records processing, so a recent arrest may not appear on the roster right away. A citation or summons does not automatically mean someone was booked.

  • Official Inmate Search

Stearns County's inmate and warrant search page links the current-inmate roster, which shows adults presently recorded in custody. It is not an arrest log, a warrant system or a court record, and it may not update the moment someone is booked or released. GPS is independent of it and cannot change it.

  • Bail and Release Conditions

Stearns County District Court may release someone without monetary bail, on conditions, with money bail, or a combination. Conditions such as no-contact or no-alcohol terms still apply after a bond is posted.

  • Cash Bail vs. Surety Bond

Cash bail paid directly as the court authorizes is different from a surety premium paid to a bail bond agency, which is not returned. Confirm the bail amount, conditions and payment rules with the facility actually holding the person. Those procedures do not define how GPS accepts payment.

  • Probation and Other Holds

Another case, a warrant or a probation or supervision hold can keep someone in custody even after bail is posted on the Spring Hill matter, and one bond does not resolve every hold. See our Warrant and Probation Violation guides.

  • Court dates

    Court Appearance Information

Stearns County District Court, part of the Seventh Judicial District, handles criminal cases filed in Stearns County, including applicable Spring Hill cases. Criminal and traffic matters use 815 Courthouse Square; civil, family, juvenile and jury services use 725 Courthouse Square — two service locations of one court. The actual hearing location comes from the case record. Calendars can change, not every case is publicly searchable, and Minnesota Court Records Online is not the live jail roster. Court paperwork controls every appearance and release condition.

09 · About

About Spring Hill, Minnesota

  • Spring Hill is a small incorporated city in western Stearns County with a Melrose, MN 56352 mailing address. It sits within Spring Hill Township, which MnDOT's township map shows as a separate unit of government from the city.
  • MnDOT's township map shows Minnesota Highway 4 crossing Spring Hill Township and County Road 129 in the surrounding area. Local streets and county roads link the city to that corridor and toward Greenwald, Meire Grove and Lake Henry.
  • Minnesota Geographic Names (1920) records Spring Hill Township as settled in 1857, organized on July 10, 1871 and named for its springs and low hills. Those are township dates; the 1915 History of Stearns County describes the village as a farming community served by mail from Melrose.
  • The Church of St. Michael, 102 St. Michael Avenue North, is part of the One In Faith Catholic community that also serves Melrose, Meire Grove and Greenwald. It is a community landmark — not a city office, police facility, jail or court.
  • The Spring Hill Chargers play amateur baseball at Charger Field, 27200 County Road 129, according to the Minnesota Baseball Association. The ballfield's Melrose mailing address does not make it part of Melrose or a city facility.
  • Law enforcement, custody and court are county services: the Stearns County Sheriff's Office (non-emergency 320-251-4240) is the law-enforcement contact, Stearns County Jail is at 807 Courthouse Square in St. Cloud, and cases go to Stearns County District Court in the Seventh Judicial District. City government does not set bail.
